Turley Jewelers to Offer Custom Piece for Leukemia Fundraising Fishing Tournament

Turley Jewelers, a family owned business located in Pinecrest (Miami, Fl), has made a custom piece of jewelry for the Westminster Christian School Fishing Tournament Fundraiser.  The event will raise money for the ‘Live like Bella Foundation’.

Store owner and master jeweler Eddie DePaula specially designed a one-of-a-kind pendant that will be auctioned off for the fight against Leukemia. Turley Jewelers works closely with their community and the Live like Bella Foundation. Information about the custom piece is as follows:

There will also be a bezel set genuine red ruby in honor of Bella Rodriguez-Torres and the Live like Bella Foundation. Turley Jewelers pray that this in some small way honors the memory of Briana Vega, by raising money and awareness, to bring about a cure for Leukemia.

Briana Vega was a 12-year-old student at Westminster Christian School in Palmetto Bay who lost her battle to acute myeloid leukemia in February, two years after being diagnosed with the cancer.  Only one and a half years after being in remission, she developed a secondary type of cancer, which turned out to be an aggressive type of leukemia that required a bone marrow transplant and eventually took her life.

Now, in memory of Briana, her school has teamed up with the Live like Bella Foundation to create a fishing tournament to raise funds for the foundation and will be used exclusively for research in this form of leukemia.

The fishing tournament will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, at Shake-A-Leg Miami in Coconut Grove.
